Longer Index Finger in Men Protects against Prostate Cancer

KOLKATA, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com) — A recent study published in British Journal of Cancer showed that the size of the index finger in men can be used to determine the risk of occurrence of prostate cancer. Men with longer index finger under 60 are less likely to suffer from prostate cancer.

How the index finger in men is associated with prostate cancer? Researchers suggested that a male child with longer index finger indicates that he is less exposed to o the sex hormone, testosterone. Hence, they are protected against prostate cancer.

This study was proved by an experiment conducted on 1,500 prostate cancer patients and around 3,000 healthy men. It was then noticed that most of the men had shorter index finger and were exposed to possibility of cancer, whereas risk of the people with longer finger were reduced by 33%.
