IOWA (GaeaTimes.com)- The huge egg recall that is in effect in more than 14 states of the USA has created sensation in the media and sent shock waves among the consumers. The FDA has said that the entire fiasco could have been evaded if the egg farm based in Iowa that produced the eggs had acted in a responsible way. The entity has said that Wright County Egg farm possibly did not adhere to the latest safety rules recommended by it. The entity is now trying to find out what led to the massive salmonella contaminations in the egg produced by the egg farm. The new FDA rules specify that the tests for salmonella contamination.
As a matter of fact FDA prepared these safety rules way back when Bill Clinton was the president of the USA. However they were kept aside for several years and could not be implanted for whatsoever reasons. Finally FDA decided to put the rules to use last year in July. Sherri McGarry associated with FDA told the press that the Iowa farm should have adopted the new rules while manufacturing and packing eggs and then the recall would not become so vast. The FDA investigators are trying their level best to trace the root of the problem.
The Iowa egg farm had earlier drawn the wrath of law and paid hefty penalties for violating environmental norms. The recall has put the farm in trouble. The infection is reaching new states like Georgia and others. The rising infection cases have prompted the FDA to extend the recall for some more time.
