Goa to monitor swine flu cases after death of woman

PANAJI - The Goa government Wednesday formed a high level committee to monitor cases of swine flu incidents after a 36-year-old woman succumbed to the H1N1 virus this week.

Goa Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane also the assembly that the committee would be headed by Chief Secretary Sanjiv Srivastava.

“The committee will send circulars to all schools asking them to keep check on the absenteeism patterns in schools and to isolate any possible cases of swine flu in Goa,” Rane said.

The directorate of health services will also monitor data on a regular basis to isolate any cases of the diseases.

Ratna Chauhan was admitted to Hospicio Hospital, Margao 35 kms from here, with pneumonia and succumbed to the disease a couple of days ago.
