VICTORIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Yet another case of a death due to the legionnaire’s disease has been reported. This is the third case that has been reported so far, in this year itself, and that too in the same city of Victoria. This time, it is the turn of an elderly man from Victoria itself who has succumbed to the disease. The legionnaire’s disease is being described by the health department to be more severe form of pneumonia, that is contracted when an individual inhales water vapor or dust particles that contain the legionelle bacteria. The disease is an extremely harmful one, and can often result in death.

The health department of Victoria has not yet given out any details about the man who has succumbed to the legionnaire’s disease. All that is known about him is the fact that he was about 66 years of age. His name has not been disclosed by the authorities. The authorities have reported that the deceased was not a worker in the area that is being linked to the outbreak of the disease, that is, the two water coolers and the shopping district. The authorities are guessing that he might have contracted the disease when he went shopping or visited the region for some other reason.

It has been reported that the man was not the only one to have been affected by the disease of late. Two other cases have been reported. However, both the patients have been released from the hospital after being treated, and are now convalescing at home. People have been asked to visit the doctor immediately if they see any of the symptoms of the legionnaire’s disease.
