ABU DHABI - The UAE has launched the world’s first mobile children’s hospital as part of its Giving Campaign to provide free health care to children across the globe, it was announced Monday.

The project is funded by a grant from Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, chairwoman of the General Women’s Union and supreme president of Family Development Foundation (FDA).

About one million children are expected to be benefited from the initiative.

Director general of General Women Union Noura Al-Suwaidi said Sheikha Fatima is very supportive of the initiative which will complement local and global efforts to alleviate suffering of children.

Sheikha Fatima has donated 10 million dirhams (about 2.7 million) for a humanitarian campaign announced in May by the UAE to treat one million children in the UAE and around the world.
