Kellogg Recalls Food Products

BATTLE CREEK (GaeaTimes.com)- On Friday Kellogg Co. announced that it is voluntarily recalling about 28 million boxes of cereal that has received complaints of an unusual smell. The company is recalling its Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Froot Loops and Honey Smacks about which it said has received complaints about. According to the company, the products are being recalled as they fear that the unusual flavor and smell might make the consumers ill.

The recall is being made by Kellogg Co. after it received complaints from around 20 people who voiced their dissatisfaction over the cereals. Out of the 20, five people complained that they have suffered nausea and vomiting after the consumption of the product. The Kellogg Co. Spokeswoman J. Adaire Putnam said that the consumers complained that food products tasted and smelled like wax or soap or like metal. She also added that it some described the food product tasted stale. However, the company has not received reports of any serious health hazard caused by the food products.

The Kellogg Co. recall is being done only for the batch of products that has printed in it letters “KN” followed by the use-by date. Company spokeswoman said that Kellogg products that have hit the market in late March are being recalled. Kellogg products sold in Canada have not been found affected and is not being recalled according to J. Adaire Putnam. The Kellogg Co. is also trying to find out the element that has led to such a fault. However, in the meantime the company spokeswoman said that Kellogg Co. is offering refunds to the consumers who have bought the products.
