ADAKLU-ANYIGBE, GHANA (GaeaTimes.com)-DCE (District Chief Executive) of Adaklu Anyigbe district, Michael Kobla Adzahoo has condemned the general public for their reluctance and aloofness towards the education program which are being organized and regulated for general health awareness. The DCE in his speech towards the general public said that it’s lamentable to have noticed the general public putting up a casual approach towards the health education program that is being organized by GHS (Ghana Health Service).

The DCE is of the opinion that the public attitude towards the general health awareness is aspoilerto all health awareness campaigns that are being organized for the general mass. He alsounderlinedthe fact that such an attitude turns the public ignorant about serious diseases like Tuberculosis and Cancer. Speaking on the same note was Dr Timothy Letsa who happens to be the Acting Regional Director for GHS. Reportedly, GHS has records of a total of 1,579 cases of Tuberculosis in the Adaklu Anyigbe district alone in the last year. The cure rate margin was 32 percent while the detection rate margin was 42. The director said that it’s high time that the public should take up the initiative on their own to make sure that each and everybody is made aware of the situation.

According to the director and the DCE, the detection rate is no way a reflective margin of the disease as it is being spread in the region. The DCE also thanked andcongratulatedTB Control Officer, Winnard Klu from the Ho Municipal Hospital and he was awarded a 29 inch Television set for the fine work that he has done with the health awareness campaign.
