Iran to manufacture 18 new medical implant devices

TEHRAN - Iran will manufacture 18 artificial biological devices in order to meet the requirement of sergical implants for the treatment of heart, bone and other ailments.
With the help of Iranian experts of bone and cardiovascular implants, manufacturing of 18 new bio-implant products in the country is on the agenda so that the number of such products manufactured in Iran reaches 20, Ramezan-Ali Sadeqzadeh, deputy head of Industrial Development and Renovation Organisation (IDRO) told IRNA.
He said that 40 pieces of cardiovascular bio-implants were successfully tested during cardio surgeries in various Iranian hospitals last year.
Sadeqzadeh said the Islamic Republic has the capacity to produce 2,140 cardiovascular bio-implants a year.
