India offers Yoga, generic drugs to Sweden

NEW DELHI - India will offer its expertise in Yoga and generic drugs to Sweden during the Indo-Sweden health week that begins Feb 1, health authorities said Sunday.
“India would like to offer its expertise in traditional medicines like yoga and ayurveda as well as good quality and cheap generic drugs. Sweden is likely to offer its expertise in the field of diagnostics and medical education,” a union health ministry official said.
Swedish Minister for Elderly Care and Public Health Maria Larsson and Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad will inaugurate the week here Monday.
As part of the week, Indo-Swedish thematic workshops will also be held on anti-biotic resistance, pharmaceuticals, public health, alcohol, adolescent health and public health research, the Swedish embassy in New Delhi said Friday.
In addition, round tables will be organised on sustainable and affordable healthcare and seminars on innovating and partnering with technology and the way ahead to accessible healthcare.
