BEIJING - Over 20 students in China’s Heilongjiang province fell sick after eating noodles in school and had to be rushed to hospital, officials said Friday.
The students of Deqiang Primary and Secondary School in Harbin began suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea at about 4 p.m. Thursday, said Wei Jinghai, a school supervisor.
The students had eaten noodles with stewed long beans at noon in the school’s dining hall, but the school said they might have caught a cold during physical education class, Xinhua reported.
The city’s hygiene and disease control department said it will conduct tests to see if the students had indeed suffered from food poisoning.
Most of the students were discharged from hospital Friday morning.
