Karnatata ITBT minister resigns

BANGALORE - The Karnataka Information Technology and Bio-technology Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu resigned a day after FIRs were filed against him, his son and eight others allegedly involved in a land scam.
He is alleged to have accepted Rs.67 crores as bribe to allocate 385 acres of land to ITASKA Software, a company set up by one of aides while he was the Industries minister in 2007.
Chief Minister Y.S Yedyurappa who accepted his resignation and forwarded it to the Governor H.R. Bharadwaj told the media that the minister had resigned to facilitate an impartial inquiry by the state Lokayuta.
The father and son duo is accused of violating Karnataka land laws, forgery and furnishing wrong information to the government while allocating the land meant for setting up Special Economic Zones in 2006.
Katta Jagadish, the minister’s son who is a city corporator also resigned.(ANI)
