65 new dengue cases reported in Delhi

NEW DELHI - As many as 65 new cases of dengue were reported Tuesday, taking the total number of people affected by the mosquito-borne disease to 4,679.

According to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), north Delhi is the worst affected area with two of its zones - Rohini and Civil Lines - reporting the highest number of cases at 596 and 553 respectively. They are followed by South Zone with 533 cases.

As many as eight people have succumbed to the disease this year in the capital.

Meanwhile, Delhi has also reported 33 cases of Chikungunya whereas there were no cases of the disease last year, an MCD official said.
