NEW DELHI - Britain Wednesday issued an advisory to its citizens travelling to New Delhi, saying the capital was currently experiencing a “seasonal outbreak of dengue fever”.
“New Delhi is currently experiencing a seasonal outbreak of dengue fever,” Britain’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office said in its travel advisory, modified Wednesday evening.
“According to Indian Government statistics, the number of confirmed cases to date is significantly higher than for the same period in recent years. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi expects the number of cases to rise in September and October,” the advisory said.
Delhi has reported 980 dengue cases this year.
