NEW DELHI - Delhi Sunday reported 59 new cases of dengue, taking to 800 the number of people infected so far by the mosquito-borne disease, an official said.
“No deaths were reported in the capital today (Sunday). The total number of dengue cases in capital now stands at 800 - 779 reported from Delhi and 21 among people who visited the capital from neighbouring states,” Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s (MCD) chief medical officer N.K. Yadav said.
Delhi so far has reported two dengue deaths.
With the numbers rising every day, a worried Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Thursday said that monitoring of the dengue status would be done on a daily basis and fogging would be intensified at Games venues.
