AMU, German experts to offer free treatment for cleft lip

LUCKNOW - With the help of a team of German experts, the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will offer free treatment for cleft lip, palate and correction of nose deformities, an official said Monday.
“The varsity’s department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery has tied up with experts from Germany to offer the treatment that will be free of cost,” AMU’s Assistant Public Relations Officer Zeeshan Ahmad told reporters in Aligarh, some 300 km from Lucknow.
“Nothing would be charged for the treatment. Those who want to avail it will have to get their registration done at a camp June 6. Registration is mandatory and no fee would be charged for it,” he added.
According to officials, patients, who were operated elsewhere but still live with some residual deformities, can also avail the benefits of the treatment for free.
