Suspended Pa. doctor defends abortion clinic

PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia doctor whose medical license was suspended because of conditions at his Philadelphia abortion clinic says that he provides “the very best of responsive care.”

Dr. Kermit Gosnell tells WTXF-TV that he offers “the same care that I would want my daughter to receive.”

State medical authorities cited a recent patient death and “deplorable” conditions at Gosnell’s clinic in suspending his license. Separately, a civil lawsuit settled in 2002 charged that a woman died from a botched abortion at his clinic.

Gosnell has not returned telephone messages left by The Associated Press.

The 69-year-old doctor has not been charged. He tells the TV station that he was unaware of dissatisfied patients and expects to be vindicated.

No one has the right to kill an innocent child..I think that aside from being suspended the police should put him on jail…He deserves to be in jail!!
