LUCKNOW - Lucknow Milk Producers Co-operative Union (LMPCU), Uttar Pradesh’s largest dairy organisation, will offer “healthy milk products” to children by opening mobile booths outside schools and educational institutions.

The organisation aims to provide children a healthier alternative to carbonated cold drinks and fast food.

The objective behind launching mobile booths is to attract school-goers, college students towards healthy milk-based products,” LMPCU general manager S.K. Prasad told reporters here Wednesday.

Our upcoming project would initiate a healthy habit among students, who go after carbonated drinks and junk food that do not have any significant nutritional value,” he added.

According to LMPCU officials, the mobile booths would come into operation next month and would offer a host of tasty and healthy milk products.

The main attraction of the booths would be flavoured varieties of milk, butter milk, peda (milk sweets), ice creams, sweet curd and other milk products,” said D.P. Singh, who is associated with the public relations wing of the LMPCU.

He said initially the mobile booths would cater to students of Lucknow. Later the project would cover districts outside the state capital.

In Lucknow, LMPCU sells about 150,000 litres of milk per day under the brand name Parag.
