RAIPUR - About 165 junior doctors at Chhattisgarh’s biggest hospital, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Government Medical College and Hospital, went on an indefinite strike Thursday bringing medical services to a halt.

The strike has seriously hit the outdoor patient (OPD) services besides the casualty ward.

The state government appealed to the striking doctors to call off the protest and said it was ready to consider their demands, related to rise in salary and other financial benefits but the doctors refused to return to work.
