NEW DELHI - The Red Ribbon Express, a train for spreading AIDS awareness, will be in the capital Nov 29-Dec 1.

The eight-coach train, with both doctors and volunteers, will be stationed at the Safdarjung Railway Station Nov 29-Dec 1.

During its halt, the volunteers will disseminate information on prevention of HIV/AIDS.

The train will complete its one-year journey on the World AIDS Day Dec 1. During the year it travelled to 10,000 villages in 141 districts across the country. Its further journey is being chalked out.

Conceptualised by the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, the Red Ribbon Express project was implemented by the National AIDS Control Organisation in partnership with the railway ministry and the AIDS control societies in various states.
