RAMPUR - Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev on Monday said senior Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) leader Indresh Kumar, who has been accused in the 2007 Ajmer Dargah blast case, is innocent.
“Every day there is some staged drama in politics, and anyone can be accused of any crime. I have complete faith that these accused will never be proven true. I know about Indresh’s character, and I know him personally,” said Ramdev, while addressing a congregation of his Yoga disciples here today.
“I have also spoken to people who are close to him and everyone says that he is not associated to any kind of terrorist organisation any kind of activities which lead to non-violence,” he added.
Earlier in his address, Baba Ramdev blamed the ruling Congress party for these ills.
“Laws such as death penalty, or when money needs to be brought in from outside our country are two things which can only be done by the Central Government. We have given them two years out of which one year is already over,” said Ramdev.
“I have spoken to the Prime Minister and to Rahul Gandhi, and told them to do something to get rid of the existing corruption in our country. They need to work upon these two things in particular to get rid of corruption,” he added.
Speaking on saffron terror, Ramdev said there is no such term as saffron terror, and it is only a gimmick of the ruling party so that they can create a negative image for the opposition party.
“Bhagwa (saffron flag) is the top most colour on our national flag. It is neither a person nor an organisation. Saffron is basically our tradition, and it is very wrong to link our tradition with terror,” said Ramdev.
“It is shameful to see that saffron, which laid the foundation of tradition and values, the saffron, which has protected us and helped truth prevail over false and non-violence over violence, is being related to terror. Even I am wearing a saffron cloth, but I have never spread non-violence,” he added.
The Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) that filed the chargesheet on October 22 has claimed in its report that several RSS leaders including Indresh Kumar allegedly attended the secret meeting held on October 31, 2005.
According to the 806-page chargesheet, the conspiracy for the blast was headed by Swami Sananand, who arranged meetings in Jammu, Indore and Ujjain.
A small bomb had exploded just after evening prayers on October 11, 2007, at the famed Sufi shrine, resulting in the deaths of three and injuries to 17 others. (ANI)
