International trauma care conference in Delhi

NEW DELHI - Medical experts from across the world will discuss ways to deal with trauma cases which is the leading cause of death in road accidents at a two-day conference in the capital from Monday.
The 23rd International Trauma Care Conference organsied by Sir Ganga Ram Hospital will be held at India Habitat Centre till Wednesday.
“With the continuously increasing number of trauma related cases in the world, the emergency and critical care specialists must commit themselves in spreading awareness about the subject,” said an official statement from the organisers.
Worldwide 5.1 million people die every year due to road side accidents and another 50 million people are seriously injured every year and lose their livelihood.
According to the Global Status Report on Road Safety 2009, published by the WHO, India reported the maximum 100,000 deaths due to road accidents in 2009.
