NEW DELHI - Tripura Health Minister Tapan Chakrabarty’s only son Tuhin Chakrabarty died of jaundice and kidney failure Thursday morning at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here, family sources said.

“Twenty six-year-old Tuhin, who was doing his post-graduation in business administration, was diagnosed to be suffering from jaundice Friday and immediately shifted to AIIMS,” family sources told reporters in Agartala.

The youth breathed his last at AIIMS Thursday morning.

The minister’s wife Supriti Bhattacharjee, a school teacher, has been suffering from chronic renal failure for some years.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar met Bhattacharjee at her residence in Agartala and condoled the death of her young son.
