Richie Hayward, co-founder of Little Feat, dies
NEW YORK — Little Feat co-founder Richie Hayward has died. He was 64.
Band publicist Bridget Nolan says the drummer had been suffering from liver cancer and died Thursday at a hospital in Canada after complications of pneumonia.
Little Feat was created in 1969. The jamband mixed a variety of genres including rock and blues. The group fell apart in 1981 after frontman Lowell George died, but reformed a few years later, and had been a fixture on the touring circuit.
