Vikings’ Harvin visits Mayo Clinic for migraines

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress says he’s confident in the team’s plan to manage rookie Percy Harvin’s migraine headaches.

The problem kept Harvin out of one game and limited him to one practice last week. He had only one catch for 10 yards and two kickoff returns for a total of 31 yards in Sunday’s loss at Carolina.

Childress said Wednesday Harvin recently had a “good” visit with specialists at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester. The coach downplayed the significance of bulging discs Harvin revealed he has in his neck, saying they’re not herniated.

Childress says he’s happy Harvin will be able to participate fully in practice this week and have a better grasp of the game plan.

The Vikings visit the Chicago Bears on Monday night.

Comment: Well that is good news then. One thing that I scare most when some of the players that I like goes into something like reconstructive or plastic surgery surgery and treatment is that they may never be allowed to play again or at least for a long time. Just like what happened to Grant Hill and Darius Miles in the NBA. One got back though and the other is not so lucky.

Wow, seems like head injuries are becoming apparent in Pro Football. I heard it might also have some negative affect on the players ability to play if a head injury is detected.
