MELBOURNE - A 34-year-old Oz woman was took by surprise when she gave birth as she had no idea she was pregnant and thought was bloated from drinking too much chocolate milk.

Jessica Fogg, a childcare worker, was up most of the night with stomach pains at her home and it was only in the morning she felt something “slide out.”

“I felt this thing between my legs and I thought ‘what the hell is that?’ Then I realised and thought ‘oh my God it’s a baby’,” the Herald Sun quoted her as saying.

Jess and partner Mitch Partridge recently moved to Melbourne from Perth.

She thought it was the change in lifestyle that made her feel strange and bloated. “I put it all down to moving interstate, being under stress and drinking too much Big M,” she said.

The particular brand of flavoured milk is not readily available in WA and Jess would urge friends and family to cart Big M across the country to satisfy her cravings while living in Perth.

In the two weeks leading up to the birth, Jess said she was drinking at least 1.5 litres of Big M a day.

Medical tests showed Jess was about 36 weeks pregnant when she gave birth.

Jess said she was healthy but felt a bit silly for not knowing she was carrying a baby. She had heard stories of other women who didn’t know they were pregnant.

“I thought those people were in denial. But I do believe it now,” she said.

Other signs of pregnancy were masked by coincidence and circumstance too.

The baby’s father said finding out he was a dad was among the best and most stunning news he had heard.

“I wouldn’t believe that. When does that happen? What do we do now? The best we can. That’s all we can do. The funny thing is we wanted a kid. But we didn’t expect it like this,” he said. (ANI)
