LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com) — Stand up to Cancer 2010 is a telethon to raise the awareness of the most deadly disease cancer across the world. This anti-cancer show was broadcast yesterday night in three major broadcast networks particularly ABC, CBS and NBC over 170 countries.
Stand up to Cancer 2010 aims at raising funds for the treatment and research of cancer through different channels of media and television. This show is organized by Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) to help the millions of people affected by cancer. This telethon gains popularity among the audiences as it hosts a number of celebrities and many philanthropic leaders.
Stand up to Cancer telethon focuses on raising significant funds for cancer research. The show was lighted up by actors Michael Douglas who was recently diagnosed by throat cancer and he is undergoing chemotherapy. Douglas was lined up by other cancer survivor celebrities that included Christina Applegate, Lance Armstrong, and Elizabeth Edwards. Since its launch in 2008 Stand up to Cancer event was very successful and close to the hearts of the people.
