Tamil Nadu: Government shuts down eye hospital following blinds

CHENNAI - Lashing out at the doctors for their careless attitude, the Tamil Nadu government has asked the concerned Dharapuram hospital to be shut down where seven patients lost their vision within a period of two days.

At the Dharapuram hospital, seven patients lost their vision after undergoing a free cataract surgery that went wrong.

The hospital has come under the scanner with the State government asking for its temporary closer.

The Dharapuram police have registered several cases against the hospital on account of the complaints received by seven people blaming the hospital.

Meanwhile, the seven patients are being treated at the Aravind Eye Hospital.

Dr Narendran, the Chief doctor of Aravind Eye hospital said, ” The patients are undergoing treatment here and we are trying our best.” (ANI)
