BHOPAL - Junior doctors in two city hospitals ended their strike late Tuesday evening after expressing satisfaction at security arrangements in their hospital and assurance by the health department for round-the-clock security in the area.

Representatives of the striking doctors announced they are calling off the strike and will return to work from Wednesday.

The junior doctors of Sultania and Hamidia Medical College hospitals went on strike following abuse and threats to Sultania doctors Sunday by attendants after a newborn baby was declared dead.

The protestors demanded police protection inside the hospital.

Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Mahendra Hardia Tuesday met a group of junior doctors twice on the issue, but could not pacify them.
