NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com) — Researchers from Harvard and Wageningen University found drinking three glasses of milk could lower the risk of heart disease by 18 per cent.
The research also found no link between tucking into low-fat dairy foods and any increased risk of stroke or early death.
It highlighted a study of more than 20,000 men in the American Journal of Epidemiology, which found increasing levels of calcium above recommended levels could actually reduce the risk of mortality from cancer by 25 per cent.
The paper also featured an Australian study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition. The 16-year study of 1,529 Australian adults found that people who ate the most full-fat dairy had a 69 per cent lower risk of cardiovascular death than those who ate the least.
