Pfizer gets FDA approval for intravenous Revatio

NEW YORK — Drug developer Pfizer Inc. said Friday the Food and Drug Administration approved an intravenous version of its high blood pressure drug Revatio.

The drug was already sold as a tablet. It is used as a treatment for adults with pulmonary arterial hypertension, which affects about 100,000 people worldwide.

Shares of Pfizer rose 14 cents to $18.25 in morning trading.
