Stem Cells from Teeth can Cure Brain Disorders

KOLKATA, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com) — Now stem cells originating from tooth can be used to cure Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease and spinal chord problem. This study is discussed in the first international conference of the Indian Association of Oral and Maxilofacial Pathologists.
According to Dr K Ranganathan, dental surgeon and oral pathologist, stem cells extracted from teeth share their origin with nerve cells that constitute the brain. These stem cells can directly be injected into the nerve cells in the brain for treatment.
Another prospect of this study revealed that scientists will no more lack the number of stem cells from teeth because now medical science has developed methods to grow them in a lab to a mass sufficient to be used for stem cell therapy.
