NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com) — The FDA (Food & Drug Administration) has declared a recall of Sally Jackson cheese on grounds of harmful E coli contamination. E coli is a kind of bacteria that causes severe illness in humans especially children and also animals. The product is sold in 17 states and consumers are warned not to eat the product.
FDA has found that Sally Jackson cheese is made from unpasteurized raw milk, from goat, cows, and sheep making the potential for bacterial growth high and the manufacturer voluntarily agreed to the recall.
Consumers are asked to discard any cheese product labelled Sally Jackson and they should dispose off the cheese in a closed plastic bag with a lidded trash so that they are not eaten by the animals.
