DEOGHAR - Baba Ramdev, renowned yoga guru, on Friday hinted at having political ambitions.
Ramdev is currently on his anti-corruption drive called ‘Bharat Swabhiman Yatra’ in Jharkhand’s Deoghar District.
Ramdev claimed he is out to ‘cleanse’ the world’s largest democracy of 1.2 billion people of corruption, drawing support by carrying out the drive across the country.
Ramdev said that Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, in spite of having a clean image was unable to control the corruption in his government.
He hinted at his political ambitions, saying the result of the drive would be seen in the next elections.
“What I would do will be seen in two years, but one thing is sure that it will be in benefit of the country,” said Baba Ramdev.
He further said that he is creating a vote bank for people who have a clean image.
“I had said those 543 people should be sent to Parliament who are not corrupted, who are clean in character. That’s our first goal,” he said.
About 30,000 people had come to attend his teachings on yoga postures. By Girija Shankar Ojha (ANI)
