Avandia is a popular drug used for type II diabetes. Avandia was first approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 1999. Since then, Avandia is being used by 16 million people, affected by diabetes in US.
Pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline yields Avandia. Avandia produces insulin that control the level of blood sugar in the liver. Thus it prevents the fatal aspects of diabetes.
But, several studies revealed that Avandia is linked to a list of self-created side effects. Although in many cases people ignore the side effects as minor, very often they are found intolerable.
Some serious side effects of Avandia exposed by several studies are listed below.
1. congestive heart failure
2. Weight gain, swelling
3. Breathing trouble.
4. Fluid in the lungs
5. Liver problems that may result in jaundice with symptoms of fatigue, vomiting, stomach pain, and nausea.
6. Bone Fracture.
7. Headache.
8. Back pain.
Besides having the above mentioned side effects, Avandia is also suspected as the cause of PPH and hypoglycemia. PPH (Primary Pulmonary Hypertension) is caused by high blood pressure that includes complications such as shortness of breath, fainting, dizziness, and even heart failure. Whereas hypoglycemia occurs due to lack of sugar. Avandia can reduce blood sugar to such a level that results hypoglycemia. This is perilous for our health as our body cant function without blood sugar. The side effects are also alarming having accelerated heart rate, headache, sweating, fatigue, weakness, and dizziness.
Type II diabetes patients should be careful about the side effects of Avandia and stop using the drug if any lethal complications emerge.
