WASHINGTON - A Cornell University researcher is working to break the inextricable link between obesity and type 2 diabetes.
Ling Qi, an assistant professor of nutritional sciences in Cornell’s College of Human Ecology, says that finding just the right gene could do it.
The researcher has revealed that, in his laboratory, he is looking at two mechanisms that could potentially impact obesity and diabetes.
He says that he is focusing on the endoplasmic-reticulum (ER) stress response, which affects the expression of proteins, and the inflammation status of fat tissues. (ANI)
