79 more dengue cases surface in the capital

NEW DELHI - The national capital reported 79 more dengue cases Tuesday, taking the total number of people affected by the mosquito-borne disease to 4,244, an official of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) said.

Rohini zone in the capital is the worst affected area with 524 cases, followed by South and Civil Lines Zones with as many as 519 cases, the official said.

Seven people have died of the disease this year.

Meanwhile, a total of 21 chikungunya cases were reported from Delhi this year. There were no chikungunya cases last year, the official added.
