Chinese national down with swine flu in Orissa

BHUBANESWAR - A Chinese national is among five more people infected with swine flu in Orissa, taking the total number of victims in the state in the last two months to 87, an official said Wednesday.

The 25-year-old foreigner works at a private factory in Jharsuguda, about 374 km from here. He tested positive late Tuesday, an official of the state health control room told IANS.

One person in Bhubaneswar, one in Ispat General Hospital at steel city of Rourkela and two people in Veer Surendra Sai Medical College and Hospital at Burla in Sambalpur district also tested positive.

No fresh deaths due to swine flu have been reported from across Orissa, the official said.

The disease has killed 19 people in the state since the beginning of July, he said, adding that 14 people are currently undergoing treatment in various hospitals.
