LONDON, ENGLAND (GaeaTimes.com)- Olivia, a three year old toddler from the Leicestershire county of Central England has surprised many when she showcased the ability to walk and run. While this piece of news may sound strange to many, Olivia is a patient of the ‘ehlers danlos syndrome’, a type of joint disorder that prevents sufferers from moving about normally because of the fear of dislocation and breakage of the body bones.

The parents of Olivia had kept their three year old toddler housed at the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London for quite some time now, with Olivia undergoing treatment for the rare ‘ehlers danlos syndrome’ that she has acquired right from birth. It was during her treatment days that her parents became aware of a special type of bodysuit available only in Australian markets which enables ‘ehlers danlos syndrome’ victims lead a normal life by keeping a check on the hypermobility levels in their system and also keeping their bones in proper shape.

The three year old Olivia can now run and play around with her friends thanks to the bodysuit which she has just acquired. Priced at $4000, the special suit for ‘ehlers danlos syndrome’ patients was initially quite a difficult purchase for Olivia’s parents. It was only through the helping hand put forward by a local community club that helped the British parents to obtain one for their daughter. The Barwell and Earl Shilton Lions Club not only contributed, it also helped to collect the necessary funds for Olivia’s treatment. The three year old can now run around and play like all other children by just donning the new suit which acts as her second skin.
