UAE charity launches eye care initiative in Morocco

ABU DHABI - The United Arab Emirates Red Crescent Authority (UAE-RCA) has launched the Emirates Anti-Glaucoma Initiative in Morocco, WAM news agency reported Saturday.

The initiative plans to treat 4,000 people over next five years in five phases. Five hundred surgeries will be conducted in the first phase, while the second and third phase will cover 1,500 surgeries. The fourth and fifth phases will cover 2,000 glaucoma surgeries.

Moroccan Ambassador to the UAE Abdelkader Zaoui praised the humanitarian initiatives by the UAE and thanked its president.
