Eli Lilly Suspended a Melanoma Drug

NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com) — An Indianopolis -based company called Eli Lilly & Co. has suspended a late- stage clinical trial of a medicine in skin-cancer patients due to safety cancer. The name of the medicine is tasisulam that is meant for treating metastatic melanoma.

Though the company did not disclose the safety issues involving the drug. Researchers are studying how this drug can prove effective in the treatment of metastatic melanoma which is a deadliest form of skin cancer.

The company is trying to test the drug for other types of cancer such as breast, ovarian and other cancers.
