25 more cases of dengue in Delhi

NEW DELHI - A total of 25 cases of dengue were reported in Delhi Saturday, while five people contracted chikungunya, officials here said.

According to a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) report, the total number of dengue cases has reached 6,125.

The number of chikungunya cases also increased tremendously this year with as many as 65 people contracting the disease so far compared to 11 last year.

As for dengue cases, Shahdara (north) zone in east Delhi was the worst affected with 848 cases so far, while Rohini zone was the second worst-hit with 776 cases of the disease.

Of the total cases, 38 patients are from outside the city.
