Obama to Capitol Hill Saturday on health care

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is heading to Capitol Hill for one last strategy session with House Democrats before their health care vote.

The vote is planned for Sunday and Obama plans to deliver a final pep talk on Saturday. Obama has invited Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid so he can assure House Democrats that the Senate will go along with the changes to its health care package that the House is taking up.

The portrayal of the Health Care Bill on this page is inaccurate, I believe deliberately so. This is not a government takeover. When Americans are polled about the individula items in the Bill, they support it over-whelmingly. Only when they are polled about the Bill as a whole, which has been misrepresented by big money, do they poll negative. This is not being crammed down anyone’s throat — except the people that have continued to deny us coverage for pre-existing conditions, and insist on using our tax dollars to provide health care for the poor through charitable insitutions rather than making health insurance availabe to them. It is time for bankruptcies due to health care bills to end! It is time for us to be the decent and moral society we claim to be!
