Himachal records second swine flu death

SOLAN - An eight-year-old boy of this Himachal Pradesh town, suffering from swine flu, died in a government hospital in Chandigarh, making it the second death of the state resident due to the H1N1 virus, a health official said Friday.
“A boy who was suffering from swine flu and was admitted to Chandigarh’s Government Medical College and Hospital (Sector 32) for quite some time died Thursday,” chief medical officer Ashok Tagra told IANS.
He said the information of the boy’s death was received Friday.
This was the second death of a swine flu patient in the hill state.
Earlier, a 48-year-old woman from Solan, who was infected by the virus, died in a hospital in Punjab’s Mohali town Oct 18.
Solan district has reported the maximum number of swine flu cases in the state.
